Quirky, DIY aesthetic approach…with a massive budget. Three of the six Lowes spots I worked on. Not only is the stop motion approach traditionally quite difficult, but couple that with the limitations of both the Vine platform (6 second limit at the time of production) alongside the iPhone’s inability to lock exposure (again this was approximately three years ago) and you get a fun filled weekend. The first pass of the “fireworks” video was initially rejected by the “higher ups” and, begrudgingly, the crew spent another four hours reshooting this six second spot. But it certainly looks like it was made by some young, hip, artistic kid in his bedroom…. It makes me want to buy some screwdrivers!
